Visit my Weblog - Learning to Learn and Play with Children I have posted over 50 short articles here that you may find interesting--I hope so!!! See my recent logs on advancing integrative health while raising some serious questions about mental health practices, especially the labeling and drugging of children and youth. See my latest logs on meditation, mindfulness, relaxation, stress management, honoring our soldiers and on building relationships.
Introduction
I designed this 'healthy touch' program, in collaboration with the Associated Students Organization - New Mexico State University (NMSU), Health Promotion Team, NMSU School of Social Work  and the Family Preservation Institute,  as one alternative for improving health and wellbeing in our university, society and beyond.  After giving over 10,000 "stressouts" over a 10 year period,  we learned that the 'stressout program' is safe to use with all populations.  We use our skillful touch program with individuals, groups, couples, and families.

This program introduces and teaches mindfulness as an intrinsic awareness program for givers and our receivers of touch and physical interaction.

Our program is also used in business, government, education, military, health, and welfare organizations.  Do visit  My Resume  for more information on the extent of my national and international presentations, publications, and research related to touch and other health practices.
Our evaluations and research  demonstrate that this method that incorporates the use of touch, coordinated with the awareness of the breath,  improves the quality of lives, health and relationships of our participants.
Several respondents expressed emotional relief--that is, less anger, depression and anxiety and higher levels of tranquility, energy and vitality.   Furthermore, our research has demonstrated the effective use of our StressOut Program with patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and with diabetes.

One of my Favorite Activities

Using acupressure and other skillful techniques, coordinated with the breath to balance our body, mind, emotions and spirit, is a heartfelt  or empathic  experience for both the giver and receiver of this partner massage .

While systematically applying pressure points and introducing the 'laying-on-of-hands,'  we ask that givers and receivers maintain an awareness of their breath throughout the activity. While we refer to our "stressout program" as a chair like massage, it may be more accurate to describe the experience as a partner meditation - relaxing, yet energetic, beyond words.

This website offers you an opportunity to learn about our program, join our global team, and,  if you wish, become a Certified Partner

Do visit our Ethical Guidelines for the Safe Use of Touch  and our Protocol  so that you can learn about our safety features and  'Step-by-Step Instructions' on giving and receiving our 15-Minute StressOut Program.

As author of our
15-Minute StressOut Program, I am committed to advancing the use of safe, skillful and healthy touch  in our society and on a global scale.  Do visit the New Civilization Network where the 15-Minute StressOut  is introduced as a model program for our Elders and others experiencing isolation and lonliness.

Do enjoy our pictures displayed throughout our homepage. By clicking on them, you can view our team's gallery and Mike Connealy's beautiful photo gallery.  Mike is a wonderful friend and great artist. His pictures of nature, family, community and relationships, introduce our guests to a part of New Mexico that we call home.

I also hope you enjoy our pictures of workshop participants and our team members who have joined with us in introducing the use of touch in our community, society and beyond.

International Presence -

We are truly International as a website. For example, in February 2008, Ireland, Germany, Australia and Canada had 174 visitors to our site.  Twenty-three other countries also viewed our 15-Minute StressOut Program.  I post a listing of our monthly visitors on our
'stressout forum' for those of you interested in following or joining our global touch project.

We can improve our lives, health and relationships when we learn to skillfully interact with others using our touch while coordinating the touch with mindfulness .  Every home, work place, school and community must awaken to the fact that "Giving and Receiving" or exchanging healthy touch with one another is essential for happiness and for meeting basic human requirements for living a human life.
